Biography
Marcos André Machado Lima Teixeira. Born in Marcod e Canaveses, Portugal. Completed the Bachelor's degree in Applied Biology in 2011 and Master's degree in Ecology in 2013, both at Universidade do Minho (UM), Escola de Ciências (Portugal). Finished a research grant associated with DNA barcoding used for monitoring of estuarine macrobenthic communities at UM. Furthermore, completed the PhD on the 06th of September, 2022 in Marine Science, Technology and Management, under the joint programme with Universities of Aveiro, Minho (Host Institution), Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro and Porto (Do*Mar) with a 6 month period abroad at Sweden (Sven Lovén Centre for Marine Sciences, Tjärnö), conferring the Doctor Degree in Biology, specialization Area in Integrated Management of the Sea. Currently with a Post Doctoral position at KAUST (King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, Saudi Arabia, BEM Lab), which aims to make a biodiversity assessment of marine invertebrates, fish and cryptobenthic fish in the Red Sea using barcoding and metabarcoding.
